DEC. 1: DECEMBER/JANUARY CALENDAR OF EVENTS

December 7, 14, 21: Adopt-A Family Christmas Gift Ingathering

Terri Watamanuk will be collecting the gifts and gift cards each of the two remaining Sundays in Advent. If you have not yet checked with the Angel at the entrance to the church and would like to participate in providing Christmas cheer for families in need, go to her bucket and pull a card or two from the bucket she is holding. Once you have purchased the items you have chosen to give, please bring them to church on Sunday so that they can be offered in thanksgiving to God and then given to those for whom they have been given.

December 14th: Christmas Caroling at Casa and other care facilities

Did you ever want to sing Christmas carols like Bing Crosby or Celine Dion? Well, here is your chance. Gather at the church at 5:15 PM today and then go sing like Bing and Celine at the Casa and other care facilities in the area. Everyone is invited to bring Christmas cheer to others in this annual sing-fest. Questions? See David Bradfield today for more details. After caroling there will be time for a bit of sweets and other tasty morsels, so bring something to share.

STEWARDSHIP AT CHRIST CHURCH

The stewardship process at Christ Church focuses on a very personal decision between each of us and God that results in the support of our life at Christ Church and in the larger church. Giving is one of the ways that we human beings are able to imitate God in loving ourselves, God, and others. John’s Gospel says: “For God so loved the world, that he gave…” During this Advent season we are invited to consider how we will give as God gives. If you did not receive a mailing from the church this week in a bright golden rod colored envelop, please pick one up as you leave today. Inside this envelop you will find information about how Faith-based Pledging is done at Christ Church.

THE ANNUAL MEETING AT CHRIST CHURCH

The Annual Meeting of our parish will be held on January 25th (Sunday) during the 10:00 AM Worship Service. We have had to change our usual way of celebrating the end of one year and the beginning of a new year due to the fire. We are hoping to conduct the business of the parish in an expeditious way and to find ways to break bread together afterwards. This may be a challenge, but we will give our best to accomplish these goals.
